Dear colleagues and friends,
It is an honour and a privilege to welcome you to 4th International Symposium of Adriatic Club for Mucosal Immunology and 2nd Regional Focus in Translational Gastroenterology; organized by Croatian Society for Mucosal Immunology – Croatian Medical Association (CSMI – CMA), Croatian Society of Gastroenterology (CSG) and Academy of Medical Sciences of Croatia.
During the past two years, the shadow and burden of COVID-19 have been spread all over the globe, causing the need for lock-down in many countries and communities. Many people were infected with SARS – CoV -2 and a significant number of infected patients succumbed to COVID-19. Worldwide, the multidisciplinary teams of health professionals, from microbiology and epidemiology to medicine and surgery have been fighting the pandemic, showing their professional knowledge and skill, endurance and perseverance. We all have been working together with the same goal of stopping the pandemic. Fortunately, these days we have the opportunity to get together, again. The 4th International Symposium of ACMI is dedicated to immunobiology of mucosa in health and disease, especially in regard to mechanisms of healing, pathophysiology of inflammation associated neoplasia and pathophysiology of mucosa in COVID-19.
The 2nd Regional Focus in Translational Gastroenterology is going to reveal the role of big data analysis and artificial intelligence in research, education and clinical practice in gastroenterology. The organizer hope that this event would offer the present and future translational platform in exchanging clinical and scientific thoughts and experience, fostering the collaboration at different levels, aiming to the improvement in clinical work, education and research, especially for the younger colleagues. In front of us is the opportunity to share the knowledge and experience, and to spend memorable and scientifically exciting days, enjoying the hospitality of the city of Zagreb.
